Who are you, what do you do?
Digital fabricator, photographer, entrepreneur. Designing and print/cut/folding prototypes at Georgia Tech is what currently pays the bills. You can find out more about me at my site Immaculate Chaos.
Where do you hike mostly?
I have been moving since the end high school. Traveled around the world for a year before returning to college in Baltimore. Since then I've lived in Jackson Wyoming, Los Angeles, Oakland, and more recently Atlanta. I hike mostly on trails, but break off whenever possible. Hikes that never cross themselves top my list, I like walking in circles. My favorite mountain range is the Wind River Range in Western Wyoming.
What do you take on the trail?
Salami, cheese, and any inflatable or super light gear I can get my hands on. Like all sane people I hate heavy packs. As my father says, "take care of the ounces and the pounds will take care of themselves". My favorite gear companies include:
- Alpacka Rafts: "Designing and hand-building simple, tough boats with the best materials and techniques available".
- Stio: "Beautiful, functional apparel for both the epic and quiet moments of outdoor life".
- Klymit: "Lightweight, ultralight backpacking gear, sleeping pads, pack frames, bags, jackets & vests".
- Hyperlite Mountain Gear: "The best ultralight backpacks, shelters, tarps and equipment. Extremely lightweight, durable Cuben Fiber gear built for adventure".
What would be some of your ideal kit?
Two people, two motorcycles, Alpacka rafts, and map of rivers that have never been run before down the coast of the Americas.
